Xiang Xiang: Classes at 15th Mth

Xiang Xiang has been going to a few trials since he is getting mobile and responsive. The LNT (Little Neuro Tree) is the brain training program recommended by Aunt Sharon. There are 3 classes for this trial and will be conducted in 3 different languages, English, Chinese and Japanese. Basically there will be a theme and all activities will be based on this theme. The theme on my trial is Farm animals.. Lots of activites with self-made materials or songs will revolved around this theme. Some activities:
- learn of money and buy ice cream using that
- opening different kinds of drawers
- smell dried stuff
- memory games
- peek a boo games to locate animals
- flash cards etc.
XX doed not like the flash cards part though he did enjoy the song and singing. Mummy feels that the flash cards is too fast and think it's for older kids or for those children who are able to sit down and concentrate. Deciding that this may not be a suitable class for Xiang Xiang but wanting to keep this option, mummy is still enquiring the LNT class at Bugis but the timing was not suitable.

Mummy then decided to give Wee Care (similar to Julia Gabriel) a trial after the LNT trial ended 2 wks earlier. On the morning of 22Aug, XX was in a rather bad mood, crying all morning.. as the class is at 10.30am, xx did not nap, just has a 10 mins rest at car before arriving at Wee Care at Devonshire Rd, mummy was sure XX will not enjoy. Once arrived, we were whipped to the 2nd floor where there is a play area.. XX immediately becomes active and start playing with the toys..

The program lined up as follow:
- Welcome and Music Time, finished with story telling a book regarding the theme of today which is Friends Gathering
- Then the kids are moved to another room where different stations are setup for structured learning thru role play, imaginative play etc. Then the 4 teacherswill go around different stations explaining to parents or sharing about children development. There is a station setup for tea party with snack toys, food and chair for children to explore. Also an art & craft station to draw or paste some drawings.. Other include toys and books..
- After almost 45mins of play, it was snack time.. Besides that, parents are encouraged to share a topic of the trainer's choice (why children fail was the topic) and discuss among the group
- Outdoor play where there is a football area for kids to kick balls into net, slide and a sand station
- Closing and GoodBye with a stamp for the kids attending the lesson

Mummy was impressed with the Wee Care particularly the free play part as children are exposed to different theme every week where some items are not able to be thaught at home, though daddy thinks it's a bit messy and scattered.. This is really learning thru play and lots of social interaction with other children in the class. But most importantly, I did enjoy the class a lot, dancing to the tune, engaged to the story telling and was involved in the whole 1.5 hr of class and surprisingly not tired or cranky as mummy has previously expected. Futhermore, I was praised by all the teachers for being responsive and able to enjoy the program.. Mummy was thrilled and really attribute my improvement and outgoin personality to the Kindermusik classes that I have been attending for the past 5 weeks.
